Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba participated last Tuesday (9 December) in the events of International Anti-Corruption Day, organized by the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), in the presence of the Authority’s Chairman, the President of the High State Council, the representative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), and the Mission’s Regional Representative.
Signing of the agreement
The event witnessed the signing of the “Building Libyan National Capacities in the Fields of Combating Corruption and Money Laundering 2025–2027” project between the ACA and UNSMIL, along with the official launch of the “Raqib” application to enhance transparency and performance monitoring.
During his speech, the Prime Minister stressed the need to study the shortcomings in administrative systems and regulations, review procedures that contribute to the spread of corruption, formulate necessary proposals for their amendment, and adopt new criteria for selecting administrative leaders.
He also emphasized the importance of unifying national efforts, rejecting personal interests, and resisting agendas that hinder nation-building, in order to achieve the will of the Libyan people and their aspirations for a dignified life and sustainable development.
The event included speeches by the head of the ACA, the head of the High State Council, a representative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), and the regional representative, addressing Libya’s efforts in combating corruption and promoting transparency, and outlining future plans for developing national oversight performance.
