Libyan Airlines Airbus hit again and “written off” at Tripoli airport

By Ashraf Abdul-Wahab.

Tripoli, 24 July 2014:

An Airbus 330 belonging to Libyan Airlines was hit for a second time yesterday in a . . .[restrict]missile attack on Tripoli International Airport. The aircraft had already sustained a hit in a previous attack last week.

The Airbus A330 was one of the newest and largest of the Libyan Airlines fleet. Photos show damage to both a wing and the body of the aircraft. It is likely that the plane will now have to be written off.

Libyan Airlines was already suffering from a lack of aircraft and was reportedly defaulting on the loan with which it purchased this particular aircraft. [/restrict]
