The National Heart Centre in Tajoura, Tripoli, reported today that a specialized medical team, led by cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Mohamed Aliwa and assisted by Dr. Mohamed Farhat, performed a quadruple coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure on a 54-year-old patient.

The patient suffered from coronary artery disease, diabetes, and hypertension (IHD + DM + HTN).

The operation was successful, and the patient is in stable condition.

The operation comes as part of the Tripoli government’s efforts to localise healthcare for Libyan citizens.
