Buraq Air’s newly acquired Airbus A320 aircraft made its first landing at Tripoli’s Mitiga International Airport today, the company announced.
It will be recalled that the privately owned carrier had announced the arrival of its new craft to Libya at Benghazi’s Benina Airport last Wednesday (12 February).
Buraq said this new addition reflects its commitment to improving its services and providing a more comfortable and secure travel experience for valued passengers.
Private sector
The arrival of yet another new aircraft adds to the growing private sector fleet of crafts in Libya which is beginning to overshadow the ailing state sector carriers, Libyan Airlines and Afriqiyah Airways. Both state carriers are overburdened by debts and over employment.
On the other hand, there is a lack of transparency about the sources of money with which Libya’s private sector carriers are financed.
