Tripoli, 17 May 2013:
The fourth International Women in Libya (IWil) event saw more than 50 women from Libya and . . .[restrict]around the globe gather in the Andalusia Café in Tripoli’s Old Town.
With much talk and laughter, members enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing environment inside the old Tripoli building of the Andalusia. The venue provided guests with drinks and delicious Arabian snacks, as well as a splendid view of the Marcus Aurelius arch.
Women also had the chance to discuss their jobs and learn from each other’s experiences, with professional women working in different sectors running small discussion groups.
IWil is now organising guided walking tours around the Old Town of Tripoli for its members during the month of June. Led by local experts, the tours will highlight some of Tripoli’s most important landmarks and give women a chance to discover more about the rich cultural history of the city.
IWiL is a local network for both expatriate and Libyan women who want to exchange ideas and socialise with their peers who live and work in Libya. It was founded by Yolanda Zaptia, a director of Know Libya consultancy, and Adela Suliman from international law firm Clyde and Co. The organisers thanked the Andalusia for hosting this month’s event.
