The Libyan Business Council (LBC) reported on 22 December that it had hosted a high-level delegation from major Chinese companies at its headquarters in Tripoli to strengthening private sector economic partnership.
It said this comes as part of its efforts to open new horizons for investment and enhance international cooperation in various economic sectors,
The delegation was led by the Economic and Commercial Consultants International Alliance of China (ECCAC), in cooperation and coordination with the Libyan Chinese Business Council.
Discussions during the meeting focused on mechanisms to strengthen the strategic Libyan Chinese partnership at the private sector level and explored promising investment opportunities in vital sectors, most notably:
– Energy and renewable energy.
– Industrial localization and industrial investment.
– Real estate development and infrastructure.
A series of direct business-to-business (B2B) meetings were held between representatives of the Chinese companies and their counterparts from the Libyan business community and representatives of companies affiliated with the LBC. During these meetings, views on potential joint projects were exchanged.
The meeting was attended by the executive management of the LBC, the Chairman of the Libyan Chinese Business Council, and the Vice Chairman of the Libyan Cooperative Company.
LBC delegation to visit China soon
The meeting concluded with an agreement to strengthen cooperation between the Economic Cooperation and Development Council (ECCAC) and the LBC, and to begin arranging a visit by a trade delegation of LBC members to the People’s Republic of China in the near future. The aim of this visit is to expand trade and investment and to implement existing agreements.
