The Libyan-American Partnership Team of the Tripoli based Libyan government reported yesterday that it held a video conference with Boeing, the American aerospace company.
Participants included Minister of Transportation and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi; Head of the Executive Team for Strategic Projects and Initiatives, Mustafa Al-Manaa; Acting Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul-Sadiq; and Chairman of the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA), Ali Mahmoud.
Representing Boeing were senior management officials, including Keith Naida, Director of Commercial Airplane Sales; Andrew Pacheley, Program Manager; Ibrahim Al-Farhan, Marketing Manager; and Thu Rajan, Director of Government Operations.
The meeting focused on following up on the Executive Programme for Cooperation between the Tripoli based Libyan government and Boeing, based on the outcomes of the Washington meeting last October.
During the meeting, the white paper presented by Boeing was approved, and it was agreed that the partnership’s executive programme would commence at the beginning of January.
Boeing affirmed its commitment to cooperating with the Tripoli government, considering it part of the strategic partnership between Libya and the United States. This partnership falls within the government’s efforts to develop the capabilities of the Libyan aviation sector in the areas of domestic and international passenger and cargo transport, training, and the establishment of advanced maintenance centers, in conjunction with plans to develop and build new airports and launch the airline holding company.
