Waha Oil Company reported yesterday that it has achieved a new technical milestone with the successful implementation of Powered Dump Flood Technology in well B-225i at the North Daffa Station in Waha Field.
The company said this achievement is part of the efforts of the Operations, Drilling, and Reservoir Engineering & Production departments to develop dump-flood well operations.
This technology, the first of its kind in the company, allows for the integration of water injection and production processes within the same well through the geological formations, providing an effective alternative to injection operations in separate wells.
Waha reported that initial operational results have demonstrated the tangible success of the trial, which was conducted under the direct supervision of the company's national engineers and technicians, adhering to best engineering practices.
It explained that this step directly contributes to reducing operating costs, improving performance efficiency, and supporting reservoir pressures to mitigate their natural decline.
This paves the way for expanding the use of this technology in similar wells in the future to ensure stable and increased daily production rates.
