The Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to Prime Minister Aldabaiba, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, met yesterday with the Chargé d’affaires of the US Embassy, Jeremy Berndt.
The Unified Development Programme
The Tripoli meeting focused on the importance of the Unified Development Programme for enhancing financial stability and unifying public spending, in addition to improving resource management efficiency, which will positively impact the improvement of basic services and accelerate development in various regions.
Boeing to help develop Libya’s transport sector
The meeting also addressed supporting technical cooperation and the exchange of expertise with American institutions and companies, including Boeing, which will contribute to developing the transport sector in accordance with the state’s plans.
Unifying Libya’s institutions
Both sides emphasized the necessity of continued coordination and consultation to support the government’s efforts in unifying institutions and strengthening economic stability.
Brendt’s earlier meeting with Hafters
It will be recalled that Brendt had reported last Wednesday (25 March) that he had met with the Hafters in Benghazi where he had stressed the importance of the two Libyan western and eastern authorities implementing the Unified Development Spending Programme agreement, previously brokered by the US in Tunis, and establishing a unified budget.
