The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, reported on his personal social media site that he discussed assigning a specialized international consulting office to follow up on the implementation of the NOC’s budget with US State Department’s Senior Advisor for Libyan Political Affairs, Jeremy Berndt.
This came after a meeting between the two today at the NOC’s Tripoli headquarters.
Suleiman said the meeting comes as part of the meetings the NOC conducts to enhance cooperation and partnerships, and support efforts aimed at developing the oil and gas sector in Libya.
During the meeting, the two discussed several topics related to the energy sector, and ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences, in a way that contributes to supporting the NOC’s plans to maintain the stability of operations, raise performance efficiency, and develop capabilities to serve the sector’s objectives.
With regards the importance of assigning a specialized international consulting office to follow up on the implementation of the budget allocated to the oil sector, this was to ensure proper utilization of resources, raising the efficiency of spending, and enhancing transparency and governance in the implementation of projects and programmes allocated to developing the sector.
