Minister of Industry receives Chinese Chargé d’affaires – urges China to exploit Libyan investment opportunities

Minister of Industry meets the Committee for Localisation of Oil Materials and Equipment Industry

The Tripoli based Minister of Industry and Minerals, Ahmed Abuhisa, received at his Tripoli headquarters today China’s Chargé d’affaires, Liu Jian.‎

‎During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the industrial and mining fields, and reviewed opportunities for Chinese investment in Libya, especially in industrial infrastructure projects and the development of industrial zones. The possibility of transferring Chinese technology to the Libyan industrial sector was also discussed, which would contribute to enhancing productivity and supporting the national economy.‎

‎Minister Abuhisa further noted the importance of benefiting from Chinese expertise in achieving industrial development. He called on Chinese companies to contribute to reconstruction projects and develop Libya’s industrial sector.‎

‎Chinese companies urged to take advantage of Libyan investment opportunities
The Minister pointed to the importance of industrial zones scattered throughout Libya, and their role in supporting economic and industrial activity and creating a favourable environment for investments. He urged Chinese companies to take advantage of the opportunities in these areas, especially in the areas of technology transfer and industrial infrastructure development.‎

‎China ready to support Libya’s industrial sector
For his part, the Ministry reported, Chargé Liu Jian expressed China’s readiness to support Libya’s efforts in developing its industrial sector, and praised the promising potential of the Libyan market, expressing his country’s aspiration to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation in various fields.‎
