Libyans will be able to obtain Jordanian visas at Amman airport

.

The Libyan Embassy in Amman, Jordan, announced today that Jordanian passport holders will now be able to obtain visas to Libya electronically or upon arrival at Libyan border crossings and airports.

This comes following the issuance of the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister’s Decree No. 590 of 2024, which regulates the mechanism for citizens of Jordan to obtain entry visas to Libya.

The embassy said this comes within the framework of strengthening the close bilateral relations between Libya and Jordan and within the framework of the keenness of the Libyan Embassy in Jordan to facilitate travel and movement procedures, and to enhance fraternal, economic and cultural cooperation between the two peoples, in a way that supports the bonds of cooperation.‎

‎The Libyan Embassy confirmed that it is ready to provide any information or support to the citizens of Jordan regarding the implementation of this decision and to clarify any inquiries related to travel procedures.‎

‎Reciprocity
The move by the Libyan authorities comes in response to the Jordanian Ministry of Interior’s decision in October this year to allow Libyan citizens to enter Jordan without prior approval or a visa. According to the decision, Libyan citizens can obtain an entry visa through the e-visa website or upon arrival at border crossings.

Royal Jordanian flights resume
It will be recalled that in October this year, and after a 10-year hiatus, Royal Jordanian airlines resumed flights to and from Tripoli’s Mitiga airport. In November a Jordanian Civil aviation team inspected Benghazi’s Benina airport for the possibility of resuming flights ‘‘soon’’.

Royal Jordanian is operating three flights per week to Tripoli on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Most Libyan visitors go to Amman for its highly regarded medical treatment.
