Mitiga Airport's Fuel Depot, operated by Brega Petroleum Marketing Company, is preparing to expand its storage capacity for JET A-1 aviation fuel.
This involves adding four tanks with a combined capacity of 500,000 litres, thereby enhancing the readiness to refuel aircraft operating at Tripoli's Mitiga Airport and increasing the flexibility of the supply system.
Brega reported that preliminary inspections have confirmed the tanks' sound physical condition. Technical and operational tests, along with necessary certification procedures, will now be completed to prepare the tanks for entry into service in accordance with approved specifications.
This initiative, Brega added, is part of its programme to upgrade its facilities and enhance operational capabilities, ensuring consistent aviation fuel supplies and the continuity of services supporting air traffic.
