Czech Republic training Libyan doctors discussed as part of ‘‘Medovac’’ agreement

The Libyan Health Ministry reported yesterday that Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abu Janah, received Saturday the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Libya, Jan Visital, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the “Medovac” draft agreement, which will be signed between the Libyan Ministry of Health and the Czech Military Hospital, with the aim of training Libyan doctors. The agreement will be implemented through the Emergency Medicine and Support Centre.

The meeting dealt with other files, most notably the exchange of experiences and training in the fields of emergency, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery, as well as the implementation of programmes for visiting doctors to perform major surgeries inside Libya, and facilitating the granting of visas to Libyan patients, in addition to strengthening cooperation in the field of supplying medical equipment specialized in providing physiotherapy treatment.

For his part, the Libyan Health Ministry reported that the Czech ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration to strengthen relations with Libya in various fields, and to strengthen cooperation agreements between the Libyan and Czech ministries of health.

It also reported that the Czech ambassador invited the Minister of Health to visit the Czech Ministry of Health and medical universities in the Czech Republic to discuss signing joint cooperation agreements.

In turn, the Health Minister welcomed the ambassador and his accompanying delegation, and referred to the close relations between the two countries, and confirmed that the Libyan Ministry of Health welcomes cooperation with it in the health aspect in accordance with the procedures and laws in force in Libya.
