Libya and Cuba have agreed to sign a comprehensive memorandum of understanding covering various areas of health cooperation, in addition to forming a joint technical committee to follow up the implementation of the terms of the memorandum.
The news was revealed by the Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Health following a meeting between the Acting Minister of Health / Deputy Prime Minister, Ramadan Abu Janah, with the Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the participation of Health Minister Abujanah in the fifth Cuban Health Conference.
The Health Ministry reported that during the meeting, which included the respective accompanying delegations, the depth of the historical relations between the two countries were also emphasised, with the Cuban Foreign Minister stressing the importance of activating joint cooperation frameworks, especially in the health field.
The Cuban Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the President of Cuba to the Libyan people and their esteemed government, stressing the special place that Libya enjoys with the Cuban leadership, and his country’s keenness to strengthen bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
