London, 4 October 2021:

Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba inaugurated yesterday the construction project for the new South Oil Refinery and Cooking Gas Plant at the Sharara field.

In the event held at the headquarters of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Aldabaiba signed two decrees live on TV in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, Ramadan Abu Janah, and the Ministers of Interior, Transportation, Finance, Labour and Rehabilitation, and Culture and Knowledge Development, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Minister of State for Political Affairs, the Chairman of the NOC, and a number of members of Parliament from the southern region.

The decrees give permission to the NOC to contract directly and to finance the implementation of the construction projects of the South Refinery and the Cooking Gas Plant, in addition to the maintenance and development of the infrastructure of the Waha Oil Company lines.
