Economy Ministry to upgrade regulations for inspection and conformity companies

London, 2 March 2021:

Libya’s Tripoli based Ministry of Economy discussed ways to develop regulations governing the work of inspection and conformity companies in cooperation with the competent authorities.[restrict paid=”true”]

At an expanded meeting held at the Ministry today, departments and offices related to this field and the competent departments and offices in the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) discussed ways of developing the regulations and laws governing the work of inspection and conformity companies to ensure the supply and import of all goods and services in accordance with approved standard specifications.

During the meeting, a presentation was made explaining the steps and procedures to be followed when conducting inspections and inspections from the point of origin to arrival at the consumer.

The Ministry explained that the regulations and laws on regulating the work of inspection and conformity companies need to be constantly updated by monitoring the performance of companies and raising the level of their performance across all ports in the country in order to supply all goods and services in accordance with the approved standards and ensure the safety of the consumer.[/restrict]

The need for continuous communication and coordination between all competent authorities to achieve consumer protection and the entry of goods in accordance with the standard specifications was also stressed.
