The fifth Libyan-German Economic Forum kicked off this morning in Tripoli, with the participation of the Minister of Economy and Trade Suhail Abu Shiha.
The forum is organized by the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Ghorfa) in cooperation with the Libya Experts Forum and hosted by the General Union of Chambers of Commerce.
The forum’s opening session focused on bilateral cooperation between relevant government institutions in areas of mutual interest, promising investment opportunities, and infrastructure development projects across Libya.
The forum’s programme included dialogue sessions on:
– Oil and gas
– Renewable energy
– Electricity,
– Transportation and infrastructure
– Healthcare
– Education
The sessions featured participation from sector officials, representatives of major German and Libyan companies, and several experts and academics from Libyan and German universities and institutes.
The fifth edition of the forum, taking place from 19-20 May, will include bilateral meetings between relevant government institutions and companies, investors, and major specialized companies.
The aim is to strengthen economic and investment partnerships and increase trade volume between the two countries.
The forum witnessed the participation of the Minister of Economy and Trade, the Minister of State for the Affairs of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, the Head of the Executive Team for PM’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, the Head of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, the Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade at the German Ministry of Economics and Energy, the Ambassador of the State of Libya to Germany, the Ambassador of Germany to Libya, and several heads of authorities, centers and universities, investors, business owners and experts in related sectors.
