The 2026 Olive Exhibition in the city of Khoms opened last Friday, under the auspices of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and organized by the Khoms Chamber of Commerce.
the General Union of Chambers said this prominent economic and agricultural event reflects the importance of supporting and developing the olive sector in Libya.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the General Union of Chambers, the Director General of the Union, the President of the High Council of State, the Minister of Transport, several undersecretaries and officials, the Head of the Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) , the Mayor of Khoms, and several business leaders and specialists, with significant participation from national and international companies.
The Union of Chambers said this exhibition aims to support and promote local products and enhance the position of the olive sector and its derivatives, recognizing it as a promising sector of economic and nutritional importance.
The exhibition serves as an integrated platform combining production, processing, and marketing, contributing to broader opportunities for cooperation and investment, and facilitating the exchange of expertise among the various participating entities.
Speakers at the opening ceremony emphasized the importance of continuing to support such initiatives that contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and enhance food security, in line with Libya’s sustainable development goals. The exhibition will continue over the coming days, featuring product displays, specialized workshops, and networking opportunities.
