Libya discusses developing its health sector with Germany’s Allianz Care

(GNU).

Libya’s Tripoli based government announced yesterday that it had held on the same day an expanded meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office with representatives from Allianz Care, a German company specializing in healthcare development.

The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary and Acting Minister of Health, Mohammed Al-Ghouj; the Head of the Executive Team for the President’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Mana; and the Director of the Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Prime Minister’s Office, Adel Dhuwaihir.

The meeting focused on following up on the implementation of the Prime Minister’s directives regarding improving the performance of the healthcare sector.

During the meeting, steps were outlined for developing the management of medical services. These steps included improving operational mechanisms, establishing performance indicators, and monitoring the progress of health programmes according to specific timelines to ensure prompt implementation.

The plan also included enhancing the utilization of international expertise and specialized consulting firms in planning, development, and operation, as well as regularly monitoring all strategic initiatives and projects in the healthcare sector to guarantee adherence to targeted outcomes.

The attendees emphasized the necessity of commitment to ensuring the improvement of infrastructure and medical services and achieving tangible improvements in the quality of medical care for citizens, within a clearly defined plan to enhance the efficiency of the healthcare sector.
