Tripoli Chamber hosts Libya Tunisia B2B meeting in the fields of construction and contracting

Tripoli Chamber invites investment proposals for its buildings

Tripoli Chamber of Commerce announced today that a B2B meeting was held at its Tripoli headquarters today, bringing together several Libyan and Tunisian companies, in addition to Joint Stock /Venture Companies active in the fields of construction and contracting, the manufacture and marketing of building materials, and electrical works.‎

The meeting was held under the auspices of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, and in cooperation with the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX).

‎The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber, Anwar Abu Sitta, several members of the Chamber’s Board, in addition to the Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Tunisia to Libya, Mohamed Habib Sassi, and the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy, Abdel Razzaq Meddeb.‎

‎Abu Sitta opened the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the Tunisian delegation and the participating companies, stressing the Chamber’s keenness to open new horizons for cooperation and joint investment, and to support all initiatives that enhance economic and trade relations in the private sector with neighbourly countries, especially Tunisia, which occupies a special place in this field.‎

‎For his part, the Tunisian Chargé d’affaires expressed his satisfaction with the level of economic cooperation between the private sector between Libya and Tunisia, stressing that the common goal is to reach economic integration that serves the interests of the two countries and paves the way for a strong start towards African markets.

He added that the existence of Libyan Tunisian Joint Stock Companies reflects the level of mutual trust and represents a valuable opportunity to exchange experiences, expand fields of work, and train young competencies, stressing his country’s full support for this trend.‎

‎During the meeting, the participating companies made presentations on their manufacturing and marketing activities and capabilities, followed by direct bilateral meetings between Libyan companies belonging to the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce and their Tunisian counterparts, in an effort to explore partnership and joint investment opportunities in the private sector to enhance the economies of the two countries.‎
