The General Authority for Communications and Informatics announced yesterday the launch of what it referred to as a pioneering National Emergency Telecommunications Management Plan, which includes 34 operational measures, most notably the establishment of an Early Warning System.
Enhancing crisis preparedness
The Authority says the plan was developed in collaboration with all sector components and with support from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), reflecting its commitment to enhancing crisis preparedness.
In a related context, the Ministry of Environment organized a workshop to discuss this strategic project. The workshop focused on assessing the strengths and weaknesses of relevant sectors with the aim of enhancing coordination and increasing the efficiency of emergency response. This step underscores the Authority’s pioneering role in building a robust communications infrastructure that supports national security and ensures service continuity in exceptional circumstances.
