The Attorney General’s Office reported last Saturday (10 May) that the Public Prosecution ordered the pretrial detention of the administrative and financial affairs officer, the head of the procurement committee, the director of the local revenue department, and a member of the procurement committee in Tripoli Municipality.
The Attorney General’s Office reported that the Public Prosecution received a report from the Internal Security Agency that included evidence of the deviation of the financial work entrusted to the defendants.
The investigator documented the fact that the accused interfered in the municipality’s supplies for the benefit of a member of the Procurement Committee, conspiring to raise the price of items imported into the warehouses by an increase in price up to 20% of the selling price in the market.
They also accepted gifts in exchange for facilitating the payment of the price of items received by a company owned by a member of the Procurement Committee, and as a result, the investigator decided to detain the defendants in pretrial detention pending investigation.
