The Attorney General’s Office reported last Thursday (20 November) that the Public Prosecution ordered the detention of a former Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs, a former Internal Auditor, and a former Financial Controller at the Ministry of Housing and Utilities.
It reported that the Audit Bureau submitted a report detailing the findings of its examination of financial procedures related to contracts concluded by the Ministry with implementing agencies between 2015 and 2020.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office investigated and confirmed the mismanagement of the work entrusted to the accused, specifically their deliberate disbursement of LD 8.050 million without any supporting documentation.
Consequently, the Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the three accused pending further investigation.
