The UN Libya revealed last Thursday that the UNDP and UN Environment Programme (UNEP) are providing technical assistance to Libya’s Ministry of Planning, the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) and the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) on the development and implementation of the National Sustainable Energy Strategy for Libya 2035.
This strategy, UN Libya explained, focuses on transforming Libya into sources of sustainable energy, and enhancing energy efficiency, through capacity building, behaviour change, and integrated local development.
By providing universal access to modern, reliable and affordable energy sources, Libya can achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal No.7, UN Libya explained.
