NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman announced yesterday that he had held a meeting on the same day at Chevron's headquarters with Alex Mistry, Senior Vice President of Global Government Affairs at Chevron, and the Sunday Shepperd, Director of Exploration and Development at the company.

Suleiman said the meeting came in the context of strengthening strategic partnerships with major international companies.

The meeting focused on exploring avenues for cooperation and following up on the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between the two parties, contributing to the National Oil Corporation's (NOC) plans to develop the oil and gas sector in Libya.

During the meeting, Suleiman revealed that the two sides reviewed existing areas of cooperation, assessed progress on the MoUs, and discussed upcoming implementation steps.

He said this will ensure the achievement of shared objectives in accordance with global best practices and enhance investment opportunities and the transfer of expertise and modern technologies to the Libyan oil and gas sector.

The two emphasized the importance of continued coordination and intensified joint efforts to translate the MoUs into practical projects that contribute to increased operational efficiency, enhanced technical capabilities, and the exploration of new opportunities for collaboration in exploration, development, and production.

The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the NOC and Chevron, supporting the NOC's vision of increasing production rates, developing technical infrastructure, and creating an attractive investment environment based on transparency and fruitful cooperation with leading international companies.
