The Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed Ben Ghalboun, held a meeting on Monday as part of a series of meetings dedicated to monitoring the implementation of the electronic visa project. The meeting focused on the operational status of the "Wafed" and "E-Visa" systems following their launch.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the operation of the two systems and the technical and administrative procedures related to managing entry visa applications electronically. This aims to standardize procedures and enhance service efficiency in accordance with approved regulations.

The Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Authority, Abdulbasit Al-Baour, and the Head of the Passports, Nationality, and Foreigners Affairs Authority, Major General Youssef Murad, confirmed that the two systems have entered the operational phase.

To date, the meeting revealed that approximately 6,000 electronic visas have been issued through the "Wafed" and "E-Visa" platforms. All previous types and categories of electronic visas have been discontinued, and the two systems have been designated as the official channels for issuing entry visas to Libya.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Authority, Abdelbasit Al-Baour, the Head of the Passports, Nationality and Foreigners Affairs Authority, Major General Youssef Murad, and a number of the Authority’s directors, in addition to the Director of the Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Cabinet Office, Khalifa Shaliq, and the Director of the Employment Department at the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation.
