Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced yesterday that Mellitah Oil and Gas Company has succeeded in completing the drilling of the second well for this year, oil well No. FC25. It reported that the new well has a production capacity of 7,500 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and without the presence of associated water.

The NOC said Mellitah’s latest achievement comes after its success in operating the water re-injection project associated with El Feel field on 11 September 2022, which had been suspended since 2011. It also comes on the back of its success in drilling oil well No. FC24 on 31 January 2023, with a production capacity of about 7,200 bpd of oil.

In response, the NOC commended Mellitah Oil and Gas Company for these impressive successes which it said reflect the achievement of the goals that the NOC seeks to achieve in increasing oil and gas productivity.
