London, 13 April 2021:

The head of Libya’s Parliament (House of Representatives) Ageela Saleh, met with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and his accompanying delegation at his eastern Libya Gubba headquarters. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Saleh praised Greek positions in support of the Libyan people, stressing his keenness to deepen relations between the Libyan and Greek peoples in a way that achieves common interests.

Saleh thanked the Greek Foreign Ministry for the return of its consulate to work in the city of Benghazi, indicating his aspiration to resume the work of sea and air lines, in addition to facilitating the issuance of visas between the two countries.

He also expressed his desire for Greek companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Libya, given their experience in this field.

For his part, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias expressed his happiness to visit Libya and meet Saleh, stressing their keenness to communicate with Saleh and inviting him to visit Greece.

Dendias stressed the need to activate relations between the two countries at all levels.
