After a hiatus of several years, the first direct flights between Tripoli and the Chadian capital N'Djamena were officially launched by Afriqiyah Airways last Friday (21 August).
The Chadian Embassy in Libya said the flight witnessed the return of 44 Chadian citizens who had been detained in prisons, in a humanitarian initiative reflecting goodwill and strengthening mutual trust.
The embassy added that the resumption of this air route not only facilitates travel but also represents a vital new artery that strengthens economic, trade, and diplomatic exchanges, and supports efforts toward stability and integration in the region.
