London, 31 May 2017:
The House of Representatives (HoR) has announced that it is suspending its sessions until the 18 June, its official spokesman Abdalla Belheeg said on Monday.
The decisions came during its ‘‘consultative’’ meeting held in Tobruk on the same day. Consultative sessions are usually held when the HoR is unable to muster a quorum.
He reported that the next scheduled session is expected to be on 18 June and that the vacant position of the head of the (eastern-based) Administrative Control Authority (ACA) will be discussed on the 3rd July sitting. The appointment of a new Central Bank of Libya Governor will be discussed on the 4th July sitting, he reported.
The HoR also selected a 12-member committee to review the HoR’s internal regulations. This committee will report on the 4th July session. Another committee was also formed to review the current make-up of the HoR’s specialist committees, Belheeg reported.
