Following on from the 3 June follow up meeting, Libya’s Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed bin Ghalboun, chaired an expanded meeting last Wednesday in preparation for moving ministries into 11 new buildings at Airport Road’s Tripoli Gate project.
The meeting focused on reviewing the findings of the technical committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the new ministerial complex project and examining the executive procedures related to its completion and the outfitting of its premises.
Ensuring organized relocation process according to approved plan
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress made, including the handover of 11 buildings within the complex, the relocation of several ministries and government agencies, and the approval of the final proposal for distributing government entities across their designated buildings. This, the Tripoli government said, ensures an organized relocation process according to the approved plan.
Architectural completion and final interior outfitting of completed buildings
The meeting also authorized the Organisation for the Development of Administrative Centres (ODAC) to urgently commence the architectural completion and final interior outfitting of the completed buildings, in accordance with the needs of the ministries and government agencies, setting a specific timeframe for the completion of these works.
The meeting also stressed the need to follow up on the commitment of ODAC to implement the finishing works and internal equipment for the targeted headquarters, in order to ensure the completion of the complex’s readiness and the start of its operation according to the specified time programme.
The meeting was attended by Mustafa Al-Mana, Head of the Executive Team for the PM's Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Khalifa Shaliq, Director of the Inspection and Follow-up Department at the Cabinet Office, and officials from several relevant entities.
