Tripoli, 31 January 2017:

While Sirte’s civic leaders are fighting for central funding to rebuild their shattered town, some Libyan doctors working in Germany have sent a container full of medical equipment to help Sirte’s main hospital get back on its feet.

The Ibn Sina hospital was damaged and looted during the fighting to oust IS terrorists from the town.  Much of the equipment was wrecked and offices and medical records trashed.

The German-based doctors have bought and assembled the equipment themselves. According to Alwasat, the equipment they have sent includes 25 medical beds, 25 standard beds and ten post-natal baby care units.  There are also two ultrasonic scanners, three medical refrigerators, surgical instruments and supplies of intravenous fluids and medications.
