Tripoli, 11 August 2014:

American University of Libya student Oday Zentani has returned from Dubai after completing the ninth . . .[restrict]annual Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) Apprenticeship Programme.

Zentani (who uses the nickname “Eddie”) was chosen to be the first Libyan representative in the DSS programme run by by the organisers of the Dubai Shopping Festival. Sixteen fellow interns represented countries around the Middle East and North Africa.

The interns were kept busy during their two weeks visiting major Dubai-based business offices and attractions and helping to develop marketing strategies for the Dubai Shopping Festival.

A highlight for the interns was a visit to Facebook’s Middle East regional offices where they had the opportunity to learn more about social media-based marketing strategies.

Commenting on his experiences of the program, Zentani said, “The DSS Apprenticeship Program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You don’t get this chance everyday. And more importantly, you don’t get the chance to meet and work with bright students from 16 different nationalities from the region. During the internship, we didn’t just become friends, we became a family.” [/restrict]
