Academics from across the Arab world are participating in the First Scientific . . .[restrict]Conference of Physical Education which started yesterday in Misrata.
Taking place at Misrata University’s Faculty of Education and organised by the faculty’s Department of Physical Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the conference aims to find practical solutions to a number of issues relating to the development of sport in Libya. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Education.
Specialists in physical education and sports from Arab universities, including Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, are participating in the event, as are delegations from various Libyan universities – Misrata, Tripoli, Benghazi, Zawia, Sebha, and Derna’s Omar Mukhtar University.
Some 30 papers are being presented on three main themes: sports media, sports management and training. Various workshops are also being held on the sidelines of the conference.
Yesterday’s opening session was attended by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Education, the head of Misrata University, the head of the Faculty of Education, in addition to several members of the local council and a large number of guests. [/restrict]
