The Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Economy, Samir Šibonjić, said the first edition of the Libyan–Bosnian Business Forum represents a key opportunity to strengthen economic ties, advance bilateral cooperation, attract investment, and exchange expertise across multiple sectors.

The forum has been described as a potential turning point in the economic relationship between Libya and Bosnia and Herzegovina, reflecting the level of participation and the strategic ambitions behind this initiative.

The Minister was referring to the high-level economic delegation from Zenica-Doboj Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina visiting Tripoli and Misrata from 29 to 30 March.

The visit to Libya marks the start of real economic engagement between the two countries, focused on:

- Direct partnerships

- New investment channels

- Connecting Libyan and European markets

Last Sunday (29 March) a strategic twinning agreement was signed between the Municipality of Misrata and the City of Zenica, in the presence of municipal council members and active participation from business leaders of both countries.

The agreement establishes a long-term, action-oriented framework for cooperation, including knowledge exchange, joint project development, and economic integration at the city level.

It also creates a direct link between public and private sectors, unlocking investment opportunities and shifting collaboration from dialogue to execution.
