Tripoli, 25 October 2103:

Hossam Al-Badri, the coach of Al-Ahly Tripoli is reported as accusing Mohamed Al-Maghrabi, a player in the team, of trying . . .[restrict]to kill him. He was shot at but not hit on 12 October. He left for his native Egypt immediately afterwards.

He has said nothing about the incident until now, but according to the Egyptian news website, elbashayer.com, he has now accused Maghrabi of being behind the attempt to murder him.

Al-Ahly chairman Sasi Buown, told the Libya Herald this evening that nobody as yet knew who was responsible for the attack but it was being investigated and Maghrebi was one of the suspects. “Badri has not spoken to us at all about the allegations,” he added.

Maghrabi was himself shot, in the arm, two days after the attempt on Badri and had to undergo surgery to remove the bullet. He then flew to Tunisia for further treatment. However, when he returned to Tripoli three days ago, he was arrested at the airport in connection with the shooting. [/restrict]
