Libya's Waha Oil Company announced today that it is proceeding with the operational phases of the "Meter Bank" system.

It said this comes as part of its ongoing efforts to upgrade loading infrastructure and enhance export system efficiency.

The company said this project is a key technical initiative aimed at achieving the highest levels of accuracy and reliability in measuring crude oil volumes loaded onto tankers.

The Engineering Department executed the project in accordance with the highest technical standards, it added.

The system, it explained, comprises four metering units distributed across two groups, thereby enhancing operational flexibility and ensuring the continuity and efficiency of loading operations.

The system also incorporates a specialized calibration unit to verify meter performance accuracy, alongside a "Master Meter" that serves as the primary reference for calibrating the metering system. This ensures that readings are accurate and align with actual loaded volumes, in compliance with approved international standards.

The system is currently undergoing a trial operation phase and final testing to confirm its operational readiness prior to final approval. This follows the completion of all civil and mechanical works associated with the project, paving the way for full-scale operation in accordance with the approved plan.

Regarding technical certification procedures, Waha revealed that coordination is underway with the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to finalize the review of technical certificates and conduct system trial tests prior to final approval.

Waha Oil said this project underscores its commitment to implementing state-of-the-art oil measurement technologies and enhancing transparency and accuracy in export operations, thereby boosting performance efficiency and upholding global best practices within the oil and gas industry.
