Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) Port received last Friday (5 June) the vessel "KAI XUAN 9" arriving from China as part of transit trade operations to Africa. The ship was carrying general cargo including iron coils, plywood, vehicles, and equipment, with a total cargo weight exceeding 9,700 tons.
MFZ said this voyage is part of the regular transit operations through the port to several African countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, as well as landlocked countries on the continent such as Chad, reflecting the growing confidence in the port's logistical services.
MFZ said the continued arrival of this type of vessel underscores the importance of its port as a strategic hub for transit trade in the Mediterranean and North Africa, thanks to its strategic location, operational readiness, and capacity to serve African markets.
