The Tripoli based Libyan government reported last Friday (21 November) that its delegation, currently visiting Washington DC, held an extensive meeting with representatives of several major American companies operating in the oil, gas, telecommunications, technology, and infrastructure sectors. The meeting, organized by the US Libyan Business Association (ULSBA), reflects a renewed and strong American interest in the Libyan market, the Tripoli government reported.
The delegation included Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, Director General of the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB); Khaled Al-Mabrouk, Minister of Finance; Hassan Safar, a member of the Board of the National Oil Corporation; Ibrahim Sahd, a member of the High State Council; the Director of the Americas Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; and the Director of the Institutions and International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Finance.
The Tripoli government reported that the meeting witnessed clear interest from the American companies in participating in the “Libya Energy Conference 2026,” considered a key platform for exploring opportunities in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.
The delegation also reviewed the most prominent investment opportunities available, and the major projects implemented by the Libyan government in recent years to provide a stable and attractive investment environment, emphasizing the importance of American companies returning to work in Libya and capitalizing on the current phase of stability and economic modernization.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to intensify visits and meetings in the coming period, and to strengthen the role of the US Libyan Business Association as a permanent channel for communication and building partnerships between the public and private sectors in the two countries.
