Libya’s Tripoli based Ministry of Health announced yesterday that, Mohamed Al-Ghouj, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, who is also the Acting Health Minister, approved the National Standard List of Essential Medicines, which serves as a guiding framework for selecting medicines supplied to public healthcare facilities across the country.
The Health Ministry said this step aims to standardize terminology, simplify drug prescriptions, ensure the sustainability of supplies, and regulate the supply chain. It is part of a national policy based on scientific evidence to support the efficiency of the health system and improve services provided to citizens.
