Minister of Economy Hwej discusses trade cooperation with Moroccan Consul General

Economy Minister Hwej reviews his ministry’s implementation of its 2023 plan and issues several directives

During his meeting with the Consul General of Morocco to Libya, Bouzekri Rihani, at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters yesterday, the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, discussed strengthening trade cooperation between the two countries and promising investment partnership opportunities in areas of mutual interest.

Reviewing, revising and developing existing bilateral trade agreements
The meeting reviewed existing trade agreements between the two countries and the possibility of revising and developing them to facilitate their implementation, serving mutual interests and enhancing investment and trade partnerships between companies and business owners in both countries.

Supporting private sector, issuing visas and establishing direct sea and air links
Both sides emphasized the importance of supporting the private sector and providing the necessary facilities for the movement of business owners and companies, including issuing entry visas and establishing a direct maritime and air trade route between the two countries.

Minister Hwej’s participation in Business Forum on African Continental Free Trade Area
The meeting also touched on the arrangements for the visit of the Minister of Economy and Trade to Morocco, at the official invitation of his counterpart in the government of Morocco, to participate in the second Business Forum on the African Continental Free Trade Area (11-12 December). Hold meetings on the sidelines of the forum with economic and investment institutions in Morocco, within the framework of strengthening economic ties and networking between the relevant institutions and the private sector in both countries, was also discussed.
