Zueitina Oil Company’s announced last Sunday (19 October) the successful testing of the new well B1-106/4 in the “Lower Sabil” layer of concession (103) with a production rate exceeding 3,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).
Zueitina said these are promising results that set a precedent in this layer in the region and reflect the promising potential of this layer and its contribution to supporting and raising rates of increased production.
This success comes, it explained, because of coordination and integration between the company’s various technical work teams, especially geology and geophysics monitoring in the Engineering Planning Department.
These departments made distinguished efforts in analysing and evaluating geological and geophysical data and provided recommendations on the importance of deepening the well to additional depths to target the formation of the lower path. The test was conducted in this layer after the results confirmed the possibility of the presence of a productive oil reservoir.
This success, Zueitina added, is an important step towards enhancing development programmes and increasing production from deep formations in the region in the future, and we hope that this step will be the beginning of more field achievements that serve the goals of the company and the National Oil Corporation.
