India’s Chargé d’affaires Alim meets Libyan Foreign Ministry
In the same context, Libya’s Tripoli based Foreign Ministry reported yesterday that Ashraf Al-Tayeb, Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry, met on the same day, Mohamed Alim, Chargé d’affaires of the Indian Embassy in Libya.

The Ministry reported that the meeting discussed arrangements related to the visit of a delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industry to Tripoli next week. The delegation, it added, is scheduled to meet with several relevant Libyan institutions and sectors to discuss prospects for developing industrial and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Facilitation of Indian visas for Libyans
In this context, the Ministry said the meeting addressed the issue of Indian authorities facilitating entry visa procedures for Libyan businessmen and citizens, which would contribute to supporting direct communication and developing cooperation.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the State of Libya and the Republic of India.

It will be recalled that the Indian embassy in Tripoli only reopened as recently as July 2024.
