The Tripoli based Libyan Foreign Ministry reported yesterday that Libya signed accession to the Constitution of the African Civil Aviation Commission of the African Union (AFCAC). The signing took place on the sidelines of the 38th African Union Summit held in Addis Ababa from 14 to 16 February.
The Foreign Ministry explained that accession to this constitution, and its annexed amendments, represents a step within the framework of the exchange of support and transfer of technical expertise in the field of civil aviation between Libya on the one hand and African countries as well as the African Civil Aviation Commission on the other hand.
It that it is an important step within the framework of developing the Libyan air transport sector and granting it advantages, privileges and rights, including the right of Libya to vote in international elections in the field of civil aviation, as well as the right to apply for candidacy for positions in the international system concerned with the aviation sector.
