The International Forum & Exhibition for Free Zones – Misrata: 28 to 29 June at Misrata Free Zone

Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) reported last Monday (9 December) that it hosted a British Ministry of Transport delegation led by Sony Patal, Regional Maritime Security Liaison Officer for North Africa.

The delegation was met by the Director General of the MFZ Ayman Al-Darwish, in the presence of the Director of the General Administration of the Port, Abdelmoula Abulweifa, the port security officer and his companions, in coordination and arrangement with the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority.

This visit comes to review the port facility in MFZ and ensure compliance with security and safety applications, in accordance with the international requirements of the Ship and Port Facilities Security Code and to ensure the enhancement of maritime security requirements. It was also to determine the level of equipment and capabilities available at the port, whether in terms of facilities equipment or to enhance it with the necessary and modern mechanisms and equipment.

The delegation toured several facilities in the region and its port, expressing their admiration for what the management of the region offers for development.
