Libya’s Tripoli based Libyan prime minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, today celebrated Libya’s oil production reaching 1.363 million barrels per day today – the highest level since 2013.
He said this achievement comes within the plan to develop the oil sector to reach the production of two million barrels per day by the end of 2025.
Aldabaiba said increasing oil production will contribute to strengthen the Libyan dinar, improving the livelihood of citizens, and stabilising the national economy.
He added that improving living standards and developing services is his government’s main battle, and that it will spare no effort or hesitate to take any action or decision to achieve these goals.
NOC
His comments come after the state National Oil Corporation (NOC) had announced earlier that, thanks to the support of the Tripoli based Libyan government to the NOC and the monetisation of the necessary budget, the NOC had succeeded in continuing to increase daily production rates, reaching today 1,336,185 barrels of crude and condensate.
Another 40,000-bpd expected soon
The NOC added that as part of its plan to increase production, it is preparing to restart four fields that were out of service: Dahra, Bahi, Mabrouk, and Tahara, in the near future, with an additional production capacity of more than forty thousand barrels.
1.4 million bpd expected by end of 2024
The NOC said that it also seeks to reach the level of production of one million and four hundred thousand barrels per day by the end of this year.
