The Libyan government announced that it approved spending on 3,000 housing units for the displaced. The decision was made at Thursday’s (Fourth Regular) cabinet meeting.
The decision was due to the suffering of many displaced Libyan families as a result of the recent wars, which has left them residing in camps and unfinished buildings that lack the minimum housing health requirements, the government’s Official Spokesperson said.
The government explained that it had decided to start the contractual procedures for the implementation of the 3,000 housing units as a first stage and in an urgent manner that does not exceed 10 months from the date of contract.
These units will be distributed across the different affected cities, it added.
