Libya and Pakistan discuss importing labour, training in ITC, renewables, English and health

Libya’s Tripoli Ministry of Labour is discussing with Pakistan importing labour and training (Ministry of Labour).

London, 18 January 2021:

Libya and Pakistan discussed the import of Pakistani labour to contribute to the country’s reconstruction effort.

The news came after the Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation Al-Mahdi Al-Amin discussed with the Ambassador of Pakistan, Fayyad Ahmed, ways to develop areas of mutual cooperation between the two countries.

They also addressed during today’s meeting in Tripoli the possibility of using Pakistani training expertise in the fields of communication technology, electronic programming, renewable energies, English language, and medical and auxiliary medical professions.

Minister Amin stressed the implementation of the memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries in the fields of employment and training in 2009, stressing the importance of electronic connectivity between the two countries in order to regulate foreign workers in the labour market and reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration.

For his part, the Pakistani ambassador confirmed his country’s readiness to provide support in accordance with the requirements of the labour market, the Labour Ministry reported.
