Benghazi, 2 November 2017:
Almost 18 million Tramadol pain-relief tablets have been seized after a suspicious container was opened in Benghazi.
The port authorities have not said from where the container had been sent nor on what vessel it had arrived. However when opened at the Juliana section of the port, 350 cartons of the pain-relieving drug, now classed as a narcotic, were discovered inside. Each carton held 50,000 tablets.
Anti-drugs police are reported to have later burnt the whole 17.5 million tablet consignment.
